RUPERT– Olga A. “Dal” McBride, age 87, of Rupert, died Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Heritage Assisted Living in Twin Falls.

Olga was born to Ermette and Anna Leoni DalSoglio on Dec. 18, 1928. She joined her two brothers, Hugo and Richard, and sister, Dolly. Mom attended Acequia School and graduated Valedictorian of her class. Mom helped on the farm by picking potatoes, milking cows and any other job her parents asked of her. Mom was a very happy child and enjoyed life; and especially enjoyed the time Lola, Vera and Aunt Lena Cesari lived with them, which formed a lasting relationship with Lola, who always called her Buffy.

After graduation Mom went to Denver, Colo. to pursue a career in nursing. Nursing wasn't quite what she expected, but she eventually found the love of her life, John McBride. They married in April 1948, and as result of this marriage came four children: Susan, Sally, Bruce and Shirley.
Mom was a wonderful mother and wife. She loved gardening, raising roses and sewing. Mom made all of her daughters wedding dresses and made about 500 pair of jogging outfits for her grandson, Cody.

Olga is survived by her four children, Susan Kowitz, Sally Ward, Bruce McBride and Shirley Freiburger; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Dolly. Mom is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers; son in-law, Kenny Kowitz; and her husband, John of 56 years.

Mom was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. She was truly a lady.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 6, at the Rupert Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Rasmussen Funeral Home of Burley.
