Patricia Ann Klauser
Our “Mimi”
ALBION – Patricia Ann Klauser, age 68, of Albion, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at her home.
Enough love for 30 generations is the legacy our Mother and Mimi, Patricia Klauser, has passed down to the family God bestowed on her and to the friends who were blessed to be part of her wonderful life.
She was born to William Wesley Smith and Ida Stella Andrews in Griffin, Georgia, March 25, 1945. She was one of five children. “Sissy Dear” married Larry Halbert and began raising four beautiful children together: Andy, Lorie, Donna and Gilbert until Larry was called to be with the Lord in 1968. Patricia married again and was blessed with four more children: Janet, Deanna, Jim and Christina Dayley. One more, Lori Dee came and completed her family. She then married her soul mate and best friend, Dennis Klauser, who came into the union with Chris and Clint. They continued to raise this very large family together in love for the rest of her life. She spent the remaining time with Dennis in love and happiness.
Sissy believed very strongly in the Lord and in Jesus Christ. She was a very spiritual person who believed the very closest you can get to God is right up on top of the mountain. She practiced what she preached and made sure all her kids and grandkids enjoyed the sights and sounds of nature. No matter how busy you thought you were she would make you stop and enjoy the sight of a hummingbird, see the sunset or sunrise, or the colors of anything. She made sure that we all could hunt, fish, and camp. She loved to 4-wheel but never learned to drive it! Mimi had more kids than she gave birth to. She would barely have enough to feed her own children but would and could make it stretch to feed those who were hungry. She shared her love in the same way. She had enough to go around. There are so many she loved! She taught all of us to have this kind of unconditional love for all. Just as Jesus taught to Love one Another-Mom did that.
Mimi loved to cook and all of us enjoyed cinnamon rolls and baked bread and her famous jam! She was amazing at sewing and crocheting and made doilies for us to enjoy. We loved to have her tickle our arms, do “eyeballs” and put our head on her lap on a bad day. No matter how big we thought we were. She could comfort us like nobody. Mom could also give the best advice. Sometimes it didn’t seem to make sense or she laughed about your problem, but at the end of the day she was right and you always laughed with her. The only rule she had for her grandkids was “No Rules at the Table,” they loved that and enjoyed many dinners laughing and sharing her rule with her and Gramps.
Mom loved to go to Elk camp every year and cook for her guys and go on the yearly girl trip with her daughters exploring mountains and metal detecting and getting you up by 3 am… clinking her coffee cup. One of her favorite things was the one arm bandit in Jackpot. You couldn’t pull her off of it for nothing!
Mom showed us who we are. She never let us forget. If she thought we were forgetting, she would make us remember who God made us and put us right back on track.
Patricia struggled with cancer for 20 years. When it was just too unbearable you would find her with the Bible on her chest or by her bed. She drew her strength from the Lord to go on and fight for her family. This time God decided He needed her now and her time here was completed. There is too much to say about all of the wonderful and beautiful things for a woman that God perfected.
We all love her, will miss her, and are sitting in awe that we were blessed enough to be part of such an amazing and beautiful person’s life here on earth. We look forward to seeing the next place she is moving us all to. We love you Mom, Mimi, Sissy dear, love of my life.
