BURLEY – Inez Marie Smith, age 83, of Burley, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012.

She was born on April 19, 1928, in Groton, South Dakota, the daughter of Charles Maynard and Elsie Marie Rux Shadduck. She moved with her family to Buhl in 1933, where she received her education. She married John L. Jones on Aug. 4, 1945. Together, they had four children. They later divorced. She married Chuck Smith on Oct. 15, 1968, in Burley, and they had one son.

Inez worked several years at Spaurs Grocery in Burley. She enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend.

Survivors include her children, Marie Wilkinson of Blackfoot, Chuck (Susan) Jones, and Judy Vigh all of Burley, Bob (Diana) Jones of Walnut Creek, California, and Gene Smith of Burley; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Charles Shadduck of Tucson, Arizona, Laverne Miller of Burley, Richard (Evelyn) Shadduck of Holyrood, Kansas, and Dorothy Monroe of Nampa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, John L. Jones and Chuck Smith; and one brother, James Shadduck.

The family expresses their sincere appreciation to Parke View Rehabilitation and Care Center and to Dr. Wayne Blauer for the outstanding care given to our mother.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 23, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley. Burial will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Friday at the Rasmussen Funeral Home.
