BURLEY - Lawrence Edwin Harris, 88, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017, with family beside him at Cassia Regional Hospital in Burley, Idaho.

He was born Sept. 5, 1928, in Boise, Idaho. Edwin was raised during the Great Depression on the family ranch in Eagle, Idaho. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully throughout his life. He worked at Ore-Ida Foods in Burley, and also ran a small farm. He married Marian Hanks (deceased) and together they had seven children, Joleen Anderson, Thomas Edwin Harris of San Francisco, Calif., Jeffery Lee (Rebecca) Harris of Burley, Alice Rachelle (Richard) Wendel of Spring Creek, Nev., Randall Scott (Denise) Harris of Burley, Gregory Augustine Harris - deceased, and Angela Jane (Anthony) Heiner of Burley. Edwin left a posterity of 42 grandchildren; and 73 great-grandchildren. He was loved deeply and will be greatly missed.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the Star LDS Church, 100 S. 200 W., of Burley, with Bishop Bruce Bean officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery with military rites provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Organization.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, March 17, at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 1 until 1:45 p.m. Saturday, preceding the service at the church.
