Ida Frodsham Ida May Frodsham

BURLEY – Our wonderful mother, Ida May Frodsham, was born in Liverpool, England, on March 6, 1922. She lived in England until she came to America during World War II at the age of 21. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her four children after a short illness on Jan. 23, 2014, at the age of 91, at the Cassia Regional Medical Center. She was treated with wonderful care and respect by the hospital staff.

She was introduced to Lee L. Frodsham in England. He returned to America and they fell in love through correspondence. Three years later, she arrived in America where they were married in Georgia on Nov. 14, 1942. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan Utah LDS Temple on Jan. 4, 1943. Shortly after their sealing, Lee was sent to the war in Europe. Mom joined Lee’s family in Burley. She remained with Lee’s family where their first child, Lee, was born. Young Lee was 2 years old before father and son first met.

Though she loved her English heritage, Mom was proud when she obtained her American citizenship. After Lee graduated from chiropractic college, they returned to Burley where they raised their family.

Lee and Ida are the parents of four children, Lee (JoLynn) Frodsham of Carlsbad, Calif., Terri (Scott) Fife of Boise, Linnell (Monte) Watson of Burley, and Janice (Brett) Sellers of Las Vegas, Nev. She has 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee; her parents, James and Susan (Russell) Willis; her siblings; and one grandson.

She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved sewing, quilting, crocheting, reading, and all flowers. She and her husband loved to travel and visited Europe several times, including her birthplace in Liverpool, England. She was always a lady – gracious, and kind to everyone. She was soft spoken and gentle.

Ida was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings including, Relief Society president at the tender age of 80! In her later life she did temple work and with her husband, Lee, she served two missions – one in Texas, and the other among the Cambodian people in Northern California.

A special thanks to the wonderful staff at Highland Estates where she made many friends among the residents and staff. The love and friendship she received there is greatly appreciated.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the Paul LDS Stake Center, 424 W. Ellis St., in Paul. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
