Kenny R. Martsch Kenny R. Martsch

HEYBURN – Kenny R. Martsch left his earthly home to drive his little green golf cart on the streets of gold with his precious Lord and Savior and his beloved friends and family that have gone before him on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014.

He was born to Rhiney and Lena (Strubhaar) Martsch in Rupert, Idaho, on April 9, 1943. He lived his whole life in the Mini-Cassia area graduating from Minico High school with the mighty class of 1961, where he played football. Immediately after graduation, he and his buddies left for boot camp and served with the National Guard. He met the love of his life, Shirlee Huff, in 1967 and they were married on Jan. 10, 1970.

He worked for Western Construction, Minidoka Irrigation District, Minidoka Highway District, and sold fertilizer for more than 32 years. His customers were some of his best friends and strived to treat each one fairly and equally. He was happiest when he was golfing, fishing, or hunting – of which he could never get enough. In fact, he had just finished 18 holes of golf in 34 degree weather with one of his best friends, Billy Bacon, just prior to his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Shirlee Martsch of Heyburn; three sons, Aaron Martsch of Everett, Wash., and Vance Martsch, and Travis (Audrey) Martsch both of Heyburn; one daughter, DaNette Olmos (Chance Shaner) of Heyburn; eight grandchildren, Braydan, Austin, Chase, Daisy, Blake, Lily, Secoya, and Ashton, (with one on the way); one brother, Marvin Martsch of Santiago, Calimo, Mexico; and a sister, Beverly (Rob) Grant of Eden.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the Ebenezer Congregational Church, 129 N. 2nd W., in Paul, with Pastor Brandon Wallace officiating.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 1 until 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
