Manuela ‘Nelly’ Ramirez

BURLEY – Manuela “Nelly” Ramirez, age 40, of Burley, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at her home.

She was born on June 6, 1973, in Odessa, Texas, the daughter of Maurilio and Maria Ortega Ramirez. She received and completed her education at Valley High School in Hazelton. She was a member of the Catholic Church and was privileged to be a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed talking on the phone and watching soap operas.

Nelly is survived by her children, Joey Ramirez, Tracy Janette Queme, and Isaac Jeremy Gurrola all of Burley; her siblings, Cynthia Pequeno of Dallas, Texas, Aurelio Pegueno, Jr., of Odessa, Texas, Alma Diane Ramirez of Burley, and David Ramirez of Austin, Texas; and her nieces and nephews who dearly loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 14, at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church, 1601 Oakley Ave., in Burley, with the Rev. Julio Vicente as celebrant.

A vigil service for family and friends will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. Thursday, March 13, with the recitation of the Rosary beginning at 5 p.m. also at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church.

Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn under the direction of the Rasmussen Funeral Home of Burley.
