Faun McEntire
JACKSON, IDAHO – Faun Margaret (Stephens) McEntire, age 83, of Jackson, Idaho, died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Parke View Rehabilitation and Care Center in Burley, following a short illness.
Faun was born on April 6, 1930, in Logan, Utah. She was the only child of John Newel Stephens and Alice Hartvingsen Stephens. She attended school in both Smithfield, Utah, and Preston, Idaho. She graduated from Preston High School in 1948. She then attended Utah State University for one year.
Faun married Warren Harris McEntire on Sept. 18, 1949, in Preston, Idaho. Warren was in the United States Air Force, and the two of them moved around the country for 27 years, living in 20 different places throughout the United States, and a bit of Canada. In 1974, Warren retired as an Air Force Lt. Colonel, so Faun and family made their final move to Rupert, Idaho, where they made their home on the Snake River. Warren and Faun were married for an astounding 65 years.
Faun was an artist, designer, and seamstress. Her beautiful paintings fill the houses of her kids and grandkids. She also loved reading, bowling, snowmobiling, and was an avid Bridge player. She especially loved to have Bridge parties out on her pontoon boat cruising the Snake River.
She is survived by her husband, Warren, of Jackson, Idaho; their four children, Julie Ann (Jon) Nelson, of Jackson, Idaho, Scott Warren (Joanna) McEntire of Brier, Wash., Stephen David McEntire of Heyburn, and Linda Jeanne (Thad) Nield, of Logan, Utah; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 18, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, with Bishop Mark Sanderson officiating. Burial will be in the Rupert Cemetery.
