HEYBURN – Francis Irene McGill, age 55, passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2018, in Tooele, Utah.

Francis, the youngest of nine children, was born on January 31, 1962. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, teaching Primary in her Heyburn Ward before moving to Tooele.

Francis spent her life nurturing those around her. She selflessly cared for her parents, being the primary caregiver of her widowed mother until her mother’s passing in 2013. This was a service she provided to her family with a loving heart.

Francis was affectionately referred to as Aunt Francis by her nieces and nephews and their children, all of whom she treated like her own. She treasured her time with each of them and cherished even the simplest of gifts they gave her, appreciating every kindness.

Francis enjoyed camping and loved waterfalls. She created beautiful quilts, afghans, and enjoyed needlepoint. She loved watching everything from Perry Mason and British comedies to the latest box office hits. Her taste in music was just as eclectic, although she did favor Doo-wop. Francis was always an avid reader and Betsy Brannon Green was one of her favorite authors. Francis was well travelled, having visited Alaska, Florida, and Hawaii. She also lived in New York and Texas while working as a nanny.

Francis loved her dogs. Daggy, Buffy, and Sassy all stole her heart. Francis was a world class thrift shopper. Not only could she always find a good deal, she could find a use for every good deal. Although Francis never saw the value she held, her kind heart, quick wit, and intelligence touched the lives of those she loved. Francis was the family history keeper and had an infectious giggle that will be deeply missed.

Francis was preceded in death by her parents, Inman Edgar and Hellen Port McGill.

She is survived by her siblings: Jean (John) Slovak, Jane (Ralph) Rector, William (Kathleen) Weeks, Kathaleen (Jack) Bailey, Molly (Denny) Kay, Mary (Ron) Harris, June (Robert) Blatnick, and Garnett Teal.

Funeral services will be held in Tooele, Utah, on Saturday, January 20, at 11:00 a.m. at the Tooele Tenth Ward, 132 North 570 East. A viewing will be held that morning at 9:30 a.m. prior to services.

Funeral services will also be held in Heyburn, Idaho, on Monday, January 22, at 2:00 p.m. at the Heyburn Ward, 300 South 500 West. A viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. prior to the services.

Interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn, Idaho, following the services.
