Date of Service: Jun. 23, 2018
HEYBURN – Kathy Kaye Arritt, 58, returned to her heavenly home on June 15, 2018, from unexpected complications of pneumonia.
Kathy was born to Loa Carroll Maxwell and the late Jay Seymour Maxwell on January 2, 1960, in Rupert, Idaho. She grew up in the Mini-Cassia community and graduated from Minico High School in 1978, where she was elected homecoming queen and was active in the drill team and choir.
She was sealed for time and all eternity to her best friend, Kelly Ray Arritt, on August 10, 1978, in the Ogden Utah LDS Temple. He was smitten by her loving, kind, and charismatic personality and beautiful, long-blonde hair. Kathy started working for First Security Bank in Burley in 1990, and, after a short time, worked her way up to branch manager where she served in her professional career that spanned more than 25 years, finishing as the manager at the Wells Fargo branch in Rupert. During her life, she participated in multiple community-service organizations.
Kathy was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in a variety of capacities; as a teacher, organist, pianist, Young Women leader, member of the Primary presidency, and Relief Society president.
Kathy was blessed with a large and loving family. She raised three children with love, compassion, and devotion and showed the same love to her ten grandchildren. She instilled in them the need to work hard and to serve others. From the beginning, she dedicated her life to God and encouraged her children to do the same. This was evident in her daily life in the countless number of people she served in her professional and personal life. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with her family. She was an avid reader and loved to curl up in a warm blanket on the couch with a good, wholesome book.
Kathy was a friend to all. She was caring, faithful, loving, and always had time to lend an ear or hand to anybody in need. Even though she had physical ailments, she put them aside, always more concerned with the needs of others. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate that she can rest with her Heavenly Father after an amazing earthly life.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Kelly; children, Kollan (Karley) Arritt of Hermiston, Oregon, Kirk (Falycia) Arritt of Johnstown, Colorado, and Kelsie (Brian) Sterzer of Rigby, Idaho; grandchildren, Karter Arritt, Ty Arritt, Bridger Sterzer, Adley Arritt, Jacy Arritt, Emery Sterzer, Tyce Arritt, Conner Arritt, Austin Sterzer, and Ben Arritt; her mother, Loa Maxwell; her brothers, “Bud” Jay (Judy) Maxwell of Spokane, Washington, Alan (Martha) Maxwell of Rupert, Idaho, and Mike (Kris) Maxwell of Wasau, Nebraska; and sisters, Carol Ann (Rich) Blake of Riverdale, Utah, Connie (Alan) Williams of Rupert, Idaho, and Mary Jo (Lynn) Seamons of Corvallis, Montana. She was preceded in death by her father, Jay Maxwell; infant son, Kolby; and her infant brother, Jeffrey.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Paul Stake Center, 424 W. Ellis, with Bishop Richard R. May officiating. Burial will be in Paul Cemetery.
