David Gonzales

Feb. 4, 1964 - Oct. 7, 2014

Date of Service: Oct. 17, 2014

David Gonzales BURLEY - David Michael Gonzales was born on Feb. 4, 1964 in Rupert and was raised in Burley, Idaho. He is the son of Seledonio and Opal Gonzales. Dave went peacefully home to his Lord and Savior, surrounded by his family, on Oct. 7, 2014 after a long battle with liver disease. Dave was the youngest of his siblings; Bill, Del and Joanne.

Dave had a gentle and giving soul. He loved to make those around him happy; making jokes, using voice impersonations and simply giving of himself and his possessions. He loved the Lord and was bold in saying so. Dave worked many trades in his life. Painting, drywall, and construction, as well as working in potatoes. He loved to work and excelled in physical labor; no matter the job he’d say “Work as unto the Lord” and he often referred to himself as “an old work horse”. Even when in pain, he worked with a smile on his face.

Dave will be remembered as a giving, selfless, happy, loving and hardworking man. He had the biggest heart. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Dave is survived by his brothers, Billy David (Gaylene) Gallaway and Del Gonzales; a sister Joanne (Bill) Justesen; nephews, Jonathan, Christopher Jeremiah and Cole; nieces, Rachael, Sarah, Amanda and Ashley; great nephews, Jerem, and Tracyn; great nieces, Kabree, Rykah and Layla.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents, Sel and Opal Gonzales, and many aunts and uncles.
