Royle J. Thomson
PAUL- Comes a time. Comes a time for which we are never ready. A time to continue our journey and leave our physical loved ones behind. For Royle Joseph Thomson, this time came early on August 11th, 2015, at the age of 65. While he leaves his physical body behind tired and worn, he will continue to share a spirit of service to family and friends. This spirit of service we all have grown to know as kind, gentle, generous, caring and loving will continue to be with us, just not in the physical. For that we grieve. The loss of a husband, brother and friend leaves us behind feeling a void.
Royle is survived by his wife of 45 years, Teresa Thomson; and brothers Kim and Wesley Thomson. His extended family includes, Mary Lou Matthews, and Gary (Mary Ann) Critchfield, Dan (Lorna Kay) Kelsey, and Richard and Bill Kelsey.
Royle sits at the foot of the Creator with his mother and father, Ann Marie Rawson and John Thomson; sister, Rose Marie Zimmer; step-father, Iver Rekstad; and brother-in-law, John Martens.
A life-long resident of Burley, he leaves a community of souls connected by his kindness. An avid outdoorsman, Royle enjoyed fishing and hunting as his connection. As a successful business manager of Golden Valley Warehouse, Royle’s reliability and honesty are lessons for all. The genuine love Royle generated for his family and friends through his service will be remembered into eternity. This love he also takes with him to continue to serve in a greater role. Through this the void will diminish and connection between the physical and spiritual will continue.
The family asks you to join us in an informal tribute to Royle Thomson, at 1931 Occidental Ave., on Saturday, August 15th between 4 and 6 pm. Additional toasts to this fine man will be made at BJ’s Sports Tavern at 6:30 pm. Please join us in celebration of Royle’s continued journey.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Rasmussen Funeral Home of Burley.
