BURLEY - Boyd K Asher, son of Joyce Halford Christenson and the late Don K Asher, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, after a long, hard battle of leukemia.

Boyd was born in Burley, Idaho, on May 15, 1960. He grew up in Albion and attended school in Declo and Albion. He also went to ISU and completed his GED. He loved trucks from the time he was a little guy and always said he was going to be a truck driver some day and, sure enough, he was. He began driving truck at the young age of 16 and bought his own truck at the age of 30. He hauled many different commodities all over the United States and continued to drive up until three years ago when he was diagnosed with AML leukemia.

Boyd met the love of his life, Cindy Riedlinger, in 1994, and married her on Aug. 23, 1997. They lived in the Mini-Cassia area for many years and owned and operated their own trucking company. In 2008, Cindy suffered a brain aneurism which left her needing constant care. Boyd was always by her side until her death on Sept. 22, 2013.

Boyd is survived by his mother, Joyce Halford Christenson of Dubois; one sister, Colleen Tuttle of Wasila, Alaska; three stepchildren, Steven Hansen of Boise, and Ryan Kenner and Melissa Wodskow, both of Burley; his grandchildren, McKenzie Smith, Braxton Wodskow, and Cheyenne Wodskow; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Don K Asher; a sister, Raenel Kenny; his wife, Cindy Riedlinger Asher; and his grandparents, Howard and Raida Halford and Preston and Nellie Asher.

The family would like to thank the many caregivers from Cassia Regional Medical Center, LDS Hospital, and the Huntsman Cancer Center for their compassionate care of Boyd
.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley. Burial will be in the Paul Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, and from 1 until 1:45 p.m. Friday, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Boyd's memory at Key Bank in Burley, or the Leukemia Foundation.
