BURLEY - Barbara Andrew, 85, of Burley, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015.

She was born on Oct. 11, 1929, in Oakley, Idaho, to William Henry Martindale and Sarah Elva Workman Martindale. She was the 11th of 13 children. She married Hiram Hershel Andrew on Sept. 3, 1948, in Burley. They were the parents of seven children.

Barbara was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served as a ward Relief Society president, Primary president, Sunday school teacher, visiting teacher, along with many other callings. Barbara and her husband, Hiram, were serving a mission for the LDS Church in the England Leeds Mission when Hi was killed in a car accident in May of 1988. She returned home to her family outside of Rupert, and later moved back to Burley. Barbara and Hiram loved square dancing. Barbara loved her family and enjoyed camping in the Idaho woods.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram H. Andrew; one daughter, Elva Andrew; her parents; and 11 of her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her brother, Denzel Martindale of Torrance, Calif.; her two sons, Alvin Andrew (Margy) of Caldwell, and Delwin Andrew (Vicki) of Meridian; four daughters, Sandra Kay Kidd (Ronald) of Magna, Utah, Cheryl Linn Ostrander (Greg) of Burley, Gayle Lou Bateman (James) of Saratoga, Wyo., and Jolene Fowers (Dale) of Acequia; 22 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, where family and friends may call from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow at Gem Memorial Gardens in Burley.
