BURLEY- Winette Lucy Scott-Arttelt, age 79, of Burley, passed away Sunday, Nov. 29, 2015, at Countryside Care & Rehab. in Rupert.

“Winnie” was born in Port Angeles, Wash., Nov. 2, 1936, to Edward and Leona White. She loved to dance and play the piano while her father played the fiddle in dance and recreational halls during the late 1940s. She met her first husband, Eugene Scott (deceased), in Port Angeles when she was 18 years old. Not long after, they married and had four children together. Her love of art grew when her first husband moved her and her family to the Seattle area. They enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling as a family. Later, she became a seamstress, and made eloquent wedding dresses. The family moved to New Mexico for a season, where she owned a women’s clothing store.

In 1992, they divorced and she made her way back to where she called home, Washington State. Not long after moving back home, she recommitted her life to Christ. Later in the year, she met her second husband, Herbert Arttelt and they resided in Hoods Port, Wash. for a short period of time. Then, they moved to Sierra Vista, Ariz., where they built a new home and she became involved in church. Herbert, unfortunately, passed away in 2004. During her life, she enjoyed painting, drawing, and investigating her family tree. She suffered from a stroke in 2009, and had to move in with her eldest daughter, Jeanette, and her family in Burley, Idaho, for three years. When she had another accident, causing her to need professional medical assistance, she moved to Countryside Care and Rehab. in Rupert, Idaho. On Nov. 29, 2015, she finally said goodbye to this world and walked into heaven.

She is survived by her four children, 16 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Her eldest daughter, Jeanette (Jacques) Dring of Burley, Idaho; and their children, Kristina (Jenon) Sumpter; children, Christopher and Heather; and Joshua (Emily) Dring; children, Joy and Jesse.

Second daughter, Teresa (Bob) Koval, of Kent, Wash.; and their children, Kristi Koval; daughter, Sandra; and Chad (Emily) Koval and their children.

Third daughter, Roberta (Rigo-deceased) Gonzales of California; and their children, Melissa Gonzales; children, Elizabeth and Chad Pond; and Steven (Laiken) Gonzales and their children.

Son, Eguene Jr. (Christina) Scott of California; and their children, Eugene III, Thomas, Cheyenne, Tristan, and Drayven.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, 2015, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, with Pastor Jason VanBuskirk officiating.

The family expresses special appreciation to Countryside Care and Rehab. for the compassionate care they rendered to Winnie.
