BURLEY - Michael Alan Pollard, 55, of Burley, passed away peacefully in his home, with no pain, on Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was born in Bangor, Maine, to Frank Joseph and Jean Shaw Davis Pollard on Feb. 10, 1960. He spent his childhood in Maine and after graduating from high school, he attended college at Brigham Young Univeristy in Provo, Utah. Michael then served an LDS mission in Idaho. Upon returning home from his mission, he furthered his education at the University of Utah and found his sweetheart, Tamara “Tammi” Ann Morley. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple for time and all eternity on June 29, 1983.
Michael and Tammi lived in Salt Lake City, and they have ten years of great memories there, as this was where their adventures began, and more importantly, where they started their family. Here, they welcomed their first three children, two girls and a boy. Michael continued his education at the university and graduated with a bachelor in economics and finance. In the summer of 1992, they took a business opportunity and moved their family to Burley, and welcomed two more beautiful daughters to their family. During this time, Michael experienced severe health issues that resulted in a five-organ transplant. Michael became one of the longest living multi-visceral transplant recipients, and was an advocate for organ donation. In his free-time, he enjoyed speaking about his experiences and passion for organ donation.
Michael was a man of integrity and an example to many whose lives he touched. Michael loved his Savior and served Him diligently throughout his life. His greatest joy and accomplishment was his family.
He is survived by his wife, Tammi (Morley) of Burley; five children, Jessica (Bryan) Westerberg, Jason (Emily) Pollard, Jenna (Colton) Cox, Jordan Pollard, and Jayme Pollard; five grandchildren, Kayson, Kyler, and Khloe Westerberg, and Beckham and Lily Pollard; his stepmother, Martha Pollard; three sisters, Connie Gregoire, Debbie Owen, and Bethany Dow; three brothers, Richard Dow, Chuck Dow, and Frank Pollard; and many extended family members and faithful friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Pollard Sr.; mother, Jean (Davis) Pollard; father-in-law, Sylvan Morley; mother-in-law, Melba Morley; a sister, Stephanie Dow; and his organ donor, Jerryd Clutter.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Burley LDS West Stake Center, 2420 Parke Ave., in Burley, with Bishop M. Terry Jeppson officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.
