RUPERT – Randy Dale Jones, a 66-year-old resident of Rupert, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.

Randy was born on August 3, 1954, in Burley, Idaho, to Junior Arthur Jones and Lorna Draper.

He married Debbie Barrus in 1972, and was blessed with a stepdaughter, Stephanie Anderson. To this union two sons were born, Cory Christopher Jones and Jeremy Dee Jones. Randy later married Debbie Owens and had three children, Randy Stewart, Jr., Cherree Stewart and Melissa Bare, and a stepson, Tony Stewart. In 2000, Randy married Danielle Collins. They later divorced. To this union there are two sons, Troy Jones and Kevin Jones, and a stepdaughter, Trina Fisk.

At the young age of 16, Randy started driving truck for his brother, Gary, hauling hay. Gary later sold out and moved to Wyoming, at which time Randy went to work hauling hay for Tony Gallegos and Boyd Vanlewen. Gary eventually returned to Idaho, bought a truck and put Randy to work. Randy started working for Gary at Winner’s Circle in 1983 and continued working there for the remainder of his life. Randy was a hard worker and faithful employee. He never missed a day of work. Randy really enjoyed working with Gary. He will always be remembered for the special cake he had made for his brother that said, “Best Brother and Boss Ever, Keep on Trucking.” Randy was a very kind and generous man. He had a heart of gold and was loved by many. He will surely be missed.

Randy is survived by his brothers, Dean (Michelle) Jones of Burley, and Bill Brower of Heyburn; two sisters, Sharon (Scott) Mecham of Heyburn, and Debbie (Wendell) Jessop of Texas; eight children, Stephanie (John) Anderson of Rupert, Cory (Sheri) Jones and Jeremy (Nikole) Jones both of Burley, Randy (Tonia) Stewart, Jr., Cherree Stewart, and Melissa (Jeff) Bare all of Kansas, and Troy Jones and Kevin Jones both of Rupert; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Junior Arthur Jones and Lorna Draper; a brother, Gary Jones; a stepdaughter, Trina Fisk; and a stepson, Tony Stewart.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, where friends and family may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
