HEYBURN – Jose J. Garza, age 69, passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

Joe was born on December 4, 1950, in Del Rio, Texas, to Enrique and Lilly Garza. Joe grew up in Bracketville, Texas. He moved to Idaho nearly 18 years ago and resided in Heyburn with his step-son.

Joe was a hard worker and spent most of his life traveling the West and shearing sheep with his brother and his brother-in-law. He loved dancing and listening to Tejano music. Most of his later days were spend having Monday and Friday morning coffee with his buddies and “supervising” on the recliner in the shop at Aguero Trucking.

Joe is survived by his three children and three step-children, Virginia (Tom) Justice, Jose Jr. (Lolly) Garza, Eddie (Lilly) Garza– all of Bracketville, Texas, Juan Gator (Janie) Martinez of Heyburn, Michael Martinez, and Brenda (Sal) Chavez– both of Baytown, Texas; his siblings, Fred (Mary Lou) Ramos of Rock Springs, Texas, Julia (Macario) Aguero of Burley, Rose (Sherry) Garza of Rupert, and Wally (Cindy) Garza of Heyburn; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 10 until 11 a.m. Friday, December 11, with the recitation of the holy rosary beginning at 11 a.m., immediately followed by the funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church, located at 1601 Oakley Ave., in Burley. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn.
