Mitchell “Mitch” Stegan Baker
BURLEY – Mitchell “Mitch” Stegan Baker was born May 4, 1992, in Burley, Idaho, to Henry Arland Baker and Diana Kay Bingham Baker as the last of 13 children, “The Baker’s Dozen.” He passed away peacefully on Oct 14, 2021, at 29 years young after a ten-month struggle with ALS.
Mitch was surrounded by a whirlwind of activity as he grew up in a huge family and helped with the family businesses. He loved working outdoors or in the shop and doing anything mechanical. He loved farm work and John Deere anything. He was so relieved to graduate from Burley High School in 2012, and loved serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Arizona Tempe Mission from 2012 to 2014.
Mitch and Becca Ann Fife were married on Oct 4, 2014. Mitch was very patriotic and hard working; he worked for four years at the ethanol plant, but he really enjoyed working for Motion Towing and being able to help others. He was always caring and accepting of everyone he met. He so cherished his daughters and family and always remained upbeat despite the challenges in life.
He is survived by his wife, Becca; his three daughters, Daelyn (7), Cattrina (6), and Kaleesa (5); his parents, Henry and Diana Baker; ten siblings, David (Mindy) Baker, Kimberli (Damon) Vitangeli, Stephen (Mandy) Baker, Melanie (Max) Clements, Loralee (Todd) Salisbury, Legrand (Diana) Baker, Tiffany (Jason) Moses, Annmarie (Tim) John, (Arland’s wife, Cherece, remarried to Casey Hall), Scott (Heather) Baker, Marty (Rachael) Baker; and 100 nieces
and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Arland Kay Baker (30); his sister, Stefanie Baker (3); and his grandparents, Wallace and Lois Baker and Heber and Louise Bingham.
We will miss his positive attitude, sweet smile, heartfelt hugs and his willingness to help others.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 22, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Pella 1st Ward, located at 160 W. 400 S., of Burley, with Bishop Stephen Baker officiating. Burial will follow at the Pella Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, October 21, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Friday prior to the service at the church.
