She met her husband to be, James Donald Blanch, at the Saturday night dance. They were married in Burley, Idaho, on October 30, 1943. They began their life in Burley, Idaho, and later moved to Nyssa, Ore., on a small dairy farm. After a few short years they had the opportunity to move to the farm where she was residing, five miles West of Burley in the Starrh’s Ferry area.

Their family was joined by three children, Roy Lavern Blanch (Garland) of Jamesville, N.Y., Eddie Gene Blanch (Nancy) of Burley, and Laura Leigh Pettersson (Jim) of Provo, Utah. Through the years their family increased by ten grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she served in various callings. Two of her favorites were dance instructor with her husband, Don, and Gospel Doctrine teacher. She also served for many years as the Sunday School secretary.

In addition to homemaker, she worked as a bookkeeper for Ida Gem Dairy and Idaho Bank & Trust. After attending night school at Idaho State University in Pocatello, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Education and then taught third and fifth grades in the Cassia County School District at Dworshak Elementary for 27 years, retiring in 1993.

She loved being outside working in her yard, taking care of her home and property from dawn to dusk. She took pride in making it nice. When the two of them decided to add onto the home, she did much of the work. She also took great pride in building a set of shelves, an end table and other furniture.

Georgia took great pride in her children and grandchildren. She loved hearing about their accomplishments and cherished every phone call and every visit, especially at fair time for the rodeo, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother and sister.
