David Kendle Chatterly ALBION – David Kendle Chatterly, Sr., 73, passed away suddenly of an aneurism, July 31, 2023, at his home in Albion, Idaho, bringing to close a long battle with cancer.

David was born December 29, 1949, in Kanab, Utah, to Kendall and Sheila Workman Chatterly. He was the oldest of three children born to this marriage. His family moved to Hendersen, Nevada when he was older. He grew up there. His parents divorced and his mother remarried to Gary Foote. Gary brought three more children into the family and David grew close to these children. David graduated from Basic High School in Henderson in 1967. He wanted to enlist in the Air Force, but health reasons kept him from serving.

David then met and married Margaret Belknap. To this marriage was born a sweet baby girl, Angelina Beth. Sadly, Angelina passed away at 14 hours old. Neither recovered well from this and they later divorced. David then moved to Oregon where he met and married Nancy Petrie. A daughter, Jessica, was born to this marriage. They later divorced. While working in Page, Arizona, David met and married Vickie Karstens; Vickie brought two children into his life, Cassie and Jeremy. A son, David Kendle, Jr. was born to this marriage after they had moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. They were later divorced.

David left Colorado Springs to move to Salt Lake City, Utah, in order to help his mother care for his stepfather. After the passing of his stepfather, David decided to go to Salt Lake Community College, where he met his present wife, Rhonda Hall. He became a family friend. They married in April of 2004. Rhonda brought three more children into his life.

After Rhonda finished obtaining her teaching degree, they moved to Malta, Idaho. David retired from being a school bus driver for the Salt Lake School District. They lived in Malta for the next ten years with David venturing into raising chickens. When Rhonda retired from her teaching job, they sold their house and moved to Heyburn for two months until they found their present home in Albion, Idaho. David happily raised his chickens, enjoyed his grandchildren when they visited and had a happy life with Rhonda. He participated in the Senior Center of Albion as the treasurer and chaired online meetings. David was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer in 2021. He chose to skip the traditional treatments being that they would not help in the long run. He lived life on his terms and to the fullest. He will be missed.

David is survived by his wife, Rhonda; sons, David Chatterly, Jr., Jeremy Bird, Arion Thompson (Abby), Andrew Fenn (Courtney); his daughters, Alyssa Bonhotel (Phil), and Jessica Bohn (Mike); his sister, Laura Martin (Dan); and his many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sheila Buhl, Gary Foote, and Kendall Chatterley; his brothers, Joseph Chatterley, and Doug Foote; sister, Sandy; and daughter, Angelina Chatterly, as well as aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 19, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Albion Ward, located at 889 South Main St., in Albion, where family and friends will be received from 10 until 10:50 prior to the service.
