Robert Steven Bray BURLEY -Robert Steven Bray, a 76-year-old resident of Burley, passed away on August 6th, 2025, at home.

Steven was born on June 20th, 1949, in Burley, Idaho to Bob and Penny Bray. He had one sibling, his sister, Marilyn. Steven grew up in Burley, Idaho and graduated from Burley High School in 1967. He loved music and was an accomplished pianist and trumpet player. He married his high school sweetheart Claudette Smith on September 9th, 1967. They had seven children: Jeff, Scott, Mackensie, Mindy, Hailey, Shantel, and Hillary.

Steven served for seven years in the National Guard and did his basic training at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He loved to work. He had a special gift with math and numbers. He was the majority owner and CEO of Mini-Cassia Equipment in Heyburn, Idaho for many years. He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins. He has always loved cars, especially fast cars. His favorite car was his "bolero red" '57 Chevy. He enjoyed going to the movies.

He enjoyed serving others. He loved his church. He served in many capacities including: several bishoprics, singles ward, service mission, stake missions, employment officer, helping at care centers, and working at the Twin Falls Temple. But perhaps his favorite calling was at the time of his death, teaching young children in primary.

Steven had a special place in his heart for animals, something he passed on to all his children. He cared for many feral and neglected animals. He always had a dog and usually a cat too.

Steven is survived by his wife; seven children; and 19 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister. He said his greatest achievement was "being married for 57 years and raising seven kids."

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 16, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Springdale 1st Ward, located at 519 E. 200 S., of Burley, with Bishop Troy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley. Military rites will be provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Group.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, August 15, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday, at the church.
