Date of Service: Oct. 4, 2025
BOISE – A bright light in our family, Tamara “Tami” Christine Fitzgerald, passed away on September 15, 2025, at the age of 42. She is now reunited in heaven with her father, Harry Fitzgerald, and her beloved nephew, Joshua Davis. Her presence and joy will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Tami was born on September 10, 1983, at Minidoka Memorial Hospital in Rupert, Idaho, to Harry and Edie Fitzgerald. She came home the next day to meet her big brother, Joe, who quickly became her lifelong protector and friend. From the very beginning, Tami’s sweet spirit and bright smile filled her family’s lives with happiness. One of her favorite baby pastimes was splashing in the kitchen sink during bath time, a memory that still brings smiles to those who loved her.
During her school years, Tami participated in Special Olympics, where she found joy in competition and pride in standing on the podium to receive her ribbons and medals. In 1990, the family moved from Rupert to Albion, where Harry fulfilled his dream of owning a ranch. It was there that Tami enjoyed countless hours on the swingset her parents built for her.
Tami attended Burley High School, where she not only continued her involvement in Special Olympics but also took part in 4-H, raising lambs all four years. A cherished memory from her high school years came when she was crowned Homecoming Queen her senior year, proudly escorted by twin classmates, Jason and Joshua, one on each arm.
Following school, Tami embraced work with dedication and pride. She worked at a local motel, where her skill at making beds quickly became legendary—so much so that she often insisted on making the beds at home if others hadn’t gotten to them quickly enough. She also worked at Creekside Convenience Store, helping with dusting and keeping the cooler windows sparkling clean.
After the passing of her father in January 2024, Tami and her mother, Edie, made the difficult decision to leave the family ranch after 34 wonderful years. They moved closer to loved ones, and in April 2025, Tami joyfully settled into her own apartment with the support of assisted living staff who quickly became like family to her.
Tami’s life was a beautiful example of love, perseverance, and joy. She touched many lives with her laughter, kindness, hugs, and unwavering spirit. Though she has left us too soon, her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 3, at Albion City Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 4, at Burley United Methodist Church, located at 450 E. 27th St., in Burley.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
