Elden R. Kimber

RUPERT – Elden Rollo Kimber, a 69-year-old resident of Rupert, and a former longtime resident of Grouse Creek, Utah, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at his home.

Elden was born September 28, 1955, in Brigham City, Utah, to Raymond and Wilda (Frost) Kimber. Elden grew up in Grouse Creek alongside five siblings, Judy, Ray, David, Sharon and Betty Jean.

Weather it was making his sister, Sharon, put his train track together or riding his horse, Long Leggers, there was never a dull moment during Elden’s childhood. He attended Grouse Creek Elementary and Graduated from Raft River High School. In his younger adult years, he took a liking to riding bulls and he would look forward to getting on rank wild cows at Grouse Creek’s annual 4th of July Rodeo.

Elden had the desire to go to college to pursue the trade of welding. In order to chase this dream, he had to save up some money, so he joined the U.S. Army with his good friend, Marvin Kossman, in the fall of 1975. Based in Germany, he excelled as a mechanic receiving many advancements and honors, he rose through the ranks very quickly and became a Corporal. After an honorable discharge, Elden was able to enroll in the College of Southern Idaho’s welding program. He was very gifted in this skill. He could weld anything and did it with incredible pride and perfection.

Elden married JoAnn Robinson March 17, 1979. Shortly after that they welcomed a daughter, Camille. Nine years later they welcomed their second, tiny but mighty, daughter, Krinn. They lived in the Burley area until 1988, then a job became available in Grouse Creek for Box Elder County Road Dept. This was a great opportunity for him, since he always wanted to go back “Home” to live in the Grouse Creek Valley. He took pride in his road grading skills and spent many long winter hours plowing snow. After Elden and JoAnn moved to Grouse Creek they welcomed a son, Cody.

While in Grouse Creek, Elden enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on making his International Scout “Hunt Worthy”, this usually took place the night (the whole night) before opening day. He loved to visit with friends and for the most part, had a fun sense of humor. Elden and JoAnn later divorced in 2021.

Elden’s health began to decline quickly in the spring of 2025. He made the move into town to receive hospice assistance. We are so grateful for the kind service that Horizon Hospice provided.

Elden was preceded in death by his parents; two of his sisters, Judy and Betty Jean; and brother, David. He is survived by his sister, Sharon of Rupert; brother, Ray (Sharon) of Albion; daughters, Camille (Wade) Williams of Burley, and Krinn Ann (Owen) Jones of American Falls; son, Cody Ray of Grouse Creek; grandchildren, Mickeala Baccarini, Brett Williams, Lexie Williams, Cason Jones, Jayci Jones, Cooper Jones; and great-granddaughter, Raelynn Williams.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to his friends, family and health care workers who took the time to show love and support for our dad.

The funeral will be held at 12 noon Friday, September 26, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grouse Creek, Utah, where family and friends will be received from 10:30 until 11:45 a.m. Burial will follow at Grouse Creek Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
