BURLEY – Estella Isabel Chairez, a 51-year-old resident of Burley, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.

Estella was born on January 6, 1974, in Madera, California, and spent her life in the Burley area. Estella’s life was defined by care, connection, and enduring affection for those she loved. She is survived by her father, Jose Elias Chairez Navejas; her sons, Antonio Gonzalez and Alejandro Gonzalez; her siblings, Jose Chairez, Mary Elena Chairez, Graciela Chairez, and Leticia Chairez (Ryan Woodland). She also leaves behind a large circle of nieces and nephews who adored her and have fond memories of her caring and kind spirit: Mary- Julius Garcia, Mireya Herrera, and Angel Herrera; Graciela- Jada Chairez, Juana Viveros, and Anais Viveros; Leticia- Mateo Arteaga, Aliyah Arteaga, and Eli Woodland.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Blanca Estella Reyna Chairez.

Estella devoted herself to the people she loved. Her greatest joy came from caring for her children and extended family, and the steadiness of her presence will be deeply missed. She had a big heart and will be remembered for being warm and sweet.

The family extends a heartfelt thank-you to the ICU medical team at Portneuf Medical Center for their devoted care and compassion during Estella’s final days.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, at St. Thérèse the Little Flower Catholic Church, located at 1601 Oakley Ave., in Burley, with The Reverend Father Eladio Vieyra as celebrant. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley.

An evening vigil service will be held Monday, December 15, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6 p.m.
