Kyle Douglas Reynolds

HAZELTON – On Thursday, Sept 6, 2012, we said farewell to a wonderful husband, dad, Pa Pa- grandpa and friend. Doug completed his courageous battle against cancer at his home surrounded by his family.

Kyle Douglas Reynolds was born on Jan. 12, 1942, in Twin Falls, Idaho. Doug was the oldest child of Tom and Etta (James) Reynolds. Dad was raised in the Mini-Cassia area. In 1958, he enlisted in the United States Army. After his tour, he returned home. He met and fell in love with his best friend, Darlene Maas. Mom and Dad were married on May 2, 1964. They had three children, to whom of which they devoted their lives. We could not have asked for better parents.

Dad worked hard. He worked numerous jobs during his lifetime. He retired from Conida Warehouses in Hazelton, but his love was farming and raising calves, which he did until his health declined. Dad also loved to hunt with his boys and grandson, his trips to Jackpot, playing with his grandkids and great-granddaughters, he loved his family and loved life.

Dad was a very giving man. He was always there to help family any way he could or even a complete stranger if they needed it. We all knew if he ever did win that “big jackpot,” he wouldn’t have the money long. He would be giving it to everyone else to help them.

Doug is survived by his wife and best friend, Darlene Reynolds; three children, Tina (Pat) Tudor of Hazelton, Jerry Reynolds of Twin Falls, and Andy (Jennifer) Reynolds of Meridian; his sister, Debi (Jim) Hondo of Burley; eight grandchildren, Nicole, Tyler, Chayce, Keelan, Brian, Amy, Anthony and Emilee; two great-granddaughters, Madilyn and Jaeleigh; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Etta Reynolds; brother, George Reynolds; an infant brother, Jerry; and sisters, Sandy Murphy and Polly DeNaughel.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted in Doug’s memory at St Luke’s MSTI Center Rose Garden Memorial. Please make checks payable to St Lukes Foundation – Rose Garden in care of Rasmussen Funeral Home, P.O. Box 878, Burley ID 83318-0878.

The family would also like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Jared Manning, Dr. Richard Hammond and Hospice Visions for all of their care and support.
