Date of Service: Jan. 12, 2013

Ryan W. Bowen

BURLEY – Ryan Wyatt Bowen, age 23, of Burley, returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday Dec. 21, 2012, due to complications from an automobile accident.

Ryan was born Nov. 11, 1989, to David and Nedra (Green) Bowen in Burley Idaho, the fourth of six children. Ryan was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission for the church in the Mexico Puebla Mission. Ryan loved his missionary service and the people that he had the opportunity to serve.

Ryan was very creative and adventurous. Some of his hobbies included drawing, leather tooling, building, skiing, and especially mountain biking. Ryan loved working on the farm. Among other things, he drove truck and tractor, moved water, and milked cows.

Ryan was truly the “strong silent type” – a giant among men. Though a man of few words, his presence was always known. He lightened a room by simply entering and many enjoyed his quick wit and charm. Ryan was quiet until you got to know him or happened to hear him, then he was hilarious. Of Ryan, it can honestly be said that he never spoke a negative word of any person. He was truly a joy to be around.

Ryan was no stranger to work and even more enjoyed working in many different trades. Ryan not only had a love for agriculture but also for mechanics or anything to do with cars. If a person ever needed help, they knew all it would take was a call to Ryan and they could count on him to be there. Ryan had planned on continuing his education at BYU-Idaho studying agronomy.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Franklin Delano Bowen. He is survived by his parents, David and Nedra Bowen of Burley; his brothers and sisters, Reid (Lacy) Bowen of American Falls, Dale (Felicia) Bowen of Boise, Jordan (Ashley) Bowen of Jerome, and Bonnie and Loralee Bowen of Burley; his nieces and nephews, Wyatt, Taylor, Mia, and Kase (of whom he loved dearly, and they him); and many, many grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at the Burley LDS Stake Center, 2050 Normal Ave., with Bishop Thomas Garrard officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 1 until 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the church.
