Norma Fewkes
BURLEY – Norma Kidd Fewkes, age 79, of Burley, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016, at her home in Burley.
Norma was born in Declo, Idaho, on May 27, 1936, the daughter of Norman and Irva Newbold Kidd. She was raised on a farm, where she helped do chores and care for her mother, who suffered from rheumatoid arthritis. On Feb. 3, 1960, she married the love of her life, Marvin Fewkes, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
She was an active member of LDS Church, where she served in the Primary, Relief Society, and as a visiting teacher. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed the time she spent with her only grandchild Dillon.
Norma worked side-by-side with her husband Marvin with his truck hauling business and also worked at Deseret Industries. Mom and Dad were inseparable.
Outside of her family responsibilities and helping Marvin, Norma was a homemaker who enjoyed making plastic lace hangers, fabric painting, hooked rugs and wall hangings. She also enjoyed working in her yard, gardening, growing flowers, and very much liked going camping and fishing with her family. She also trained in martial arts (Karate) with her son Randy.
She is survived by her two children, Karla (Lowell) Broadhead of Burley; and Randy (Beth) Fewkes of Heyburn; one brother, Marvin N. Kidd, of John Day, Ore.; and one grandson Dillon Fewkes of Heyburn.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; her parents; four brothers, Cleo, Elmon, Dale, and Verlin Kidd; and two sisters, Elda McGraw and Beulha Smith.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 22, at the Burley LDS West Stake Center, 2420 Parke Ave., in Burley, with Bishop Ty Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church.
The family would like to thank Dr. Spackman and his staff, the staff at Park View Care and Rehabilitation, and Intermountain Homecare & Hospice for the loving care they gave our Mother.
We will miss you greatly and will always cherish the memories until we meet again. We Love You!!
