Barbara Ann Hansen
PAUL – Barbara Ann Hansen, age 89, of Paul, passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, at Rosewood Assisted Care in Salt Lake City, Utah, from age-related heart failure.
Barbara was born January 22, 1927, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to James H. and Marie Margret (Zenger) Martin. She was raised in Toronto, Canada and then moved to Washington, D.C., where she met Don Theron Hansen near the end of the war. They were later married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together, they had six children: Naomi (Richard) Congdon of Fountain Green, Utah, Connie (Merlin) Stelly, of Rupert, Neil (Phyllis) Hansen of Driggs, Christine Hansen (Kevin) Griggs, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Stacy Hansen of Bountiful, Utah, and Lowell Eugene (deceased) (Emma Jean) of Paul.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don T.; and son, Lowell.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities, including a couple’s mission with her husband to South Dakota.
She was very talented at sewing crocheting and made many quilts for all her children and grandchildren. She loved music and was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 10, at the Paul LDS Stake Center, 424 W. Ellis Ave., in Paul, with Bishop Kerry Sanford officiating. Friends may call from 10 until 10:45 a.m. preceding the service at the church. Burial will be in the Paul Cemetery.
