BURLEY – Lloyd Harris “Harry” Carpenter, 79, of Burley, returned peacefully to his loving heavenly home on Dec. 9, 2016.
Our beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend will be remembered in this life as a selfless, caring, kind-hearted individual who loved life and the people who were part of it.
Harry’s greatest joy was his family. He always expressed his love to them by his words and actions. A conversation with grandpa would never end without the words, “If I forget to tell you...you know I love you.”
He was his children’s and grandchildren’s greatest fan and cheerleader, never missing an opportunity to be in the stands showing support and giving encouragement.
Harry exemplified a man of integrity, honesty and fairness. As a businessman and leader in sales with Bonanza Motors for most of his life, he always went the extra mile to make you feel important. Everyone he did business with became his lifetime customers and friends. It was not uncommon for them to receive a card or phone call from him on their birthday.
Most importantly, Harry will be remembered for his compassion and love for those in need. He blessed many lives through his quiet acts of service, teaching his posterity, by example, the meaning of humility, charity, and what a true disciple should be.
He is survived by his wife and sweetheart of 57 years (his dimple darling) Clyda Carpenter; his children, Kirk (Debby) Carpenter, Kyle (Laura) Carpenter, Krishna (Michael) Haynie and Keri (Blair) Wilson; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Dale (Janice) Carpenter, John (Darlene) Carpenter, Kathy (Deil) Gordon and Sally (Dennis) Wright.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Elwin and Lydia (Butler) Carpenter.
While his family will miss him dearly, we are blessed to know that he received a joyful greeting from his loved ones who were waiting for him beyond the veil. We are grateful to know that families are forever and look forward to the time when we will see him again.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Burley 3rd & 7th Ward LDS Church, 2200 Oakley Ave., in Burley, with Bishop Brent Winn officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. preceding the service at the church.
