Cynthia Jane Brice Forthun

Aug. 15, 1966 - Dec. 17, 2016

Date of Service: Dec. 22, 2016

RUPERT - Cynthia Jane Brice Forthun, 50, of Rupert, passed away at her parents’ home on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016.

Cindy was born Aug. 15, 1966, in Phoenix, Ariz., the daughter of Clinton E. “Gene” and Marvis Jean Peck Brice. In 1970, she moved with her family to the Mini-Cassia area where she has since resided. She received her education in Minidoka County and graduated in 1984 from Minico High School. She married Bob Forthun on June 15, 1985, at the First Baptist Church in Burley. Together, they had two children, Taylor and Robert.

She worked in the health care industry and enjoyed her employment as a certified nurses aide and care giver. She was especially fond of serving in the area of home health. She volunteered at Cassia Regional Hospital and liked her associations and friendships made there.

Cindy was a member of Burley First Baptist Church. Her ultimate desire in life was to have children and see them grow to adulthood. She was grateful to live to see her three grandchildren born. Family was truly the most important part of her life. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend.

She is survived by her children, Taylor Hoffman (Kelse) of Mountain Home, and Robert Forthun of Rupert; her parents, Gene and Marvis Brice of Rupert; three brothers, Gene Brice Jr. (Suzette) of Rupert, Robert Brice (Xana) of Burley, and Byron Brice (Brenda) of Battle Mountain, Nev.; her three grandchildren, Jacob Winter, Isaac Hoffman, and Audrey Hoffman; and her three loyal and dearest friends, Nancy Young, Kay Piper, and Lorrie McCarty.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Byron and Opal Peck and Clinton and Bertie Brice.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, at the First Baptist Church, 2262 Hiland Ave., in Burley, with Pastor David Carver officiating. Burial will be in the Rupert Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and at the church on Thursday, one hour prior to the service.

The family suggests that memorials be directed to the St. Alphonsus Foundation/Cancer Care.
