James O. Blevins
PAUL – James Ottis Blevins, age 75, of Paul, formerly of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away, Saturday, March 4, 2017, at his home.
Jim was born in Somerset, Kentucky on Dec. 14, 1941, son of the late Robert Curtis and Etta Mae Godsey Blevins. He was married to Marion Simpson in June 1966, having two children, one son James Lee and one daughter, Tessa whom passed away in early Jan. 1984. Jim had a second son, Kody L. Blevins with Gay Fenstermaker in 1984. Jim served in Air Force from 1962-1968. He worked from 1968-1972 at Orion's Station in Somerset, Kentucky. Upon moving to Idaho; he was employed by Simplot Corporation from 1972, until his retirement in 2014.
Jim was a talented gardener, enjoyed constructing and carving with wood. He also loved hunting, fishing and most of all loved being with his family especially his granddaughters. He loved traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Nancy Lee Blevins and three brothers; Leotis Lee Blevins, Jerry "Rabbit" Blevins, and Lloyd Blevins.
He is survived by two sons, James L. (Dorene Hansen) Blevins of Utah, Kody L. (Krista Anderson) Blevins of Idaho, and four granddaughters, Savanna Lynn, Aubree Nicole, Alivia Lynn, and Amilia Kash; his brothers, David (Marilyn) Blevins, Jack Blevins, Bobby Blevins Larry (Rhonda) Blevins all of Somerset, Kentucky; and sisters, Patsy(James) Burkett, Peggy Meece, Phyliss (David) Acey also of Somerset, Kentucky.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 East 16th Street, in Burley. Military rites will be provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Organization.
