Joyce Korb Miller
BURLEY – A Valentine delivered to Keith V. and Della Jeane Nelson Korb on Feb. 14, 1945, in Burley, Idaho, was returned to sender on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013. She joined a big sister and soon after came a little brother. Her parents eventually divorced and remarried and she was blessed with many brother and sisters.
She was raised and went to school in Burley. She married the love of her life, Samuel Miller, on Feb. 14, 1962. They had two daughters, Della and Kristie. They divorced after many years but have remained close.
She worked at numerous jobs, from fast food to warehouse worker, until she went back to school and found her calling as a C.N.A. She lovingly cared for people for more than 20 years in her career and then later as a volunteer.
Her greatest joys in life were children, grandchildren, and extended family. She loved yard work and a beautiful showy yard. She was very sad when she was unable to keep up her yard herself. Miss Fix-it could build, fix or repair anything. She loved fishing, dancing, picnics, crosswords, sewing clothes for her children, crocheting, and knitting. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and traveled to many states to attend their games. She never knew a stranger and was adored by many.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, and is survived by her two daughters, Della Miller and Kristie (Don) Johnson; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the Burley LDS 2nd and 4th Ward Church, 515 E. 16th St., in Burley, with Bishop Clay Handy officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church.
