Marjorie Albertson
PAUL – Our beautiful mother, Marjorie Balmforth Albertson, passed away at the age of 92, on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at the Cassia Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her children.
Marjorie was born at home in Woodville, Idaho, on May 20, 1921, to Joseph Rudolph Balmforth and Rachel Alberta Heward. Born during the depression, Mother learned to work hard and be very frugal. She loved flowers and gardening, sewing, crocheting and quilting. She also loved to paint and many of her paintings have been enjoyed by family and friends.
On Oct. 17, 1938, she married Merrill Tonar Albertson and to this union nine children were born, Christine (Ralph) Hunter, Gary, Merrill B. (Linda), Richard (Gary Lane), Joseph, MaryAnn (Vic) Engkraf, Kathleen (David) Hendrix, Gwendolyn (Mike) Catmull, and Michael Albertson.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. In her later years, she devoted her life to doing temple work – which was her greatest joy. All who met her felt her beautiful spirit, and all who knew her loved her and were happy to be in her presence. She truly loved her Father in Heaven and served him faithfully.
She is survived by her nine children; 32 grandchildren; and many great and great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill T. Albertson; a daughter-in-law, Marie (Gary); and twin great-grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the LDS Church missionary fund, or a charity of your choice.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at the Paul LDS Stake Center, 424 W. Ellis St., in Paul, with Bishop Bruce E. Hansen officiating. Burial will be in the Paul Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the church.
We would like to thank Dr. Glen Page, Dr. Michael Klett, and all the nurses who cared for our mother with such kindness, and especially her “most special and loved nurse” Rachel Catmull.
Our hearts are broken but we rejoice in the knowledge that we will be with you again someday.
Love you bunches.
