Gary Lynn Jones
HEYBURN – Gary Lynn Jones, age 64, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at his home in Heyburn.
Gary was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Oct. 11, 1949, to Darold Orvin and Dorothy Anna Dayley Jones. He received his education from schools in Declo, Moses Lake, Wash., and Burley. Gary married Debbie Dudley in June of 1971 in Burley, Idaho, and together they had three sons, Jason Jones, Mike Jones and Matt (Jacque) Jones. They later divorced. Throughout his life he worked at U & I Sugar Co., M H King Company, and retired after 35 years with the City of Burley as a mechanic.
Gary loved spending time with family enjoying many summer bar-be-ques, taking the grand kids fishing and to the pumpkin patch in the fall. He also enjoyed taking them to see the Christmas lights at Rock Creek. He enjoyed taco feasts with family and friends. Gary had a passion for and enjoyed many hours working on his model rail road, building mountains, tunnels and buildings.
He also enjoyed working with wood and made many beautiful pieces of furniture.
He is survived by his three sons; four grandchildren; Kaitlan and Zach Martinez, and Orion and Emily Jones all of Burley; and two sisters, Rhoda (Jerry) Davis of Burley, and Glenda Flowers of Sycamore, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Wayne Jones.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley.
Gary was a kind and gentle man, yet so strong in things that really mattered to him. He was completely devoted to his family, loving them and his friends unconditionally. He is loved so much and will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him.
