Jeffrey Brennen Bedke

Jan. 7, 1992 - Sep. 21, 2017

Date of Service: Sep. 28, 2017

POCATELLO – Jeffrey Brennen Bedke, 25, of Pocatello, and formerly of Oakley, passed away Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, in Pocatello.

He was born Jan. 7, 1992, in Boise, Idaho, to Jeff Bedke and Shannon Felsted. He attended elementary school in Oakley and later graduated from Highland High School in Pocatello. Upon completion of high school in 2010, he joined the United States Marines. In 2013, he was deployed to Afghanistan where he served a six-month tour. His comrades remember him as the brother that treated everyone with kindness and respect.

Bren was also a kind and loving brother to his sister, Shayla, and brothers, Austin and Corbin. He loved to watch and support them in their sports and other activities. Early childhood years in Oakley meant growing up with his cousins as his first best friends. They learned all about the adventures of mutton busting and calf riding and they teamed up for countless other shenanigans. There was hardly a birthday, Halloween, Easter or Christmas holiday they weren’t together.

During his teen years in Pocatello, Bren worked at Grease Monkey and was active in welding at school. He was an adventurer who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting with his families, snowmobiling and riding his 4-wheeler. He spent a lot of his free time with his closest friends fishing, mud digging, golfing, and hanging out.

Brennen was preceded in death by his cousin, Zac McClain. He is survived and greatly missed by his parents, Jeff and Melissa Bedke of Oakley, and Dale and Shannon Felsted of Pocatello; sister, Shayla Dwonch; brothers, Austin and Corbin Bedke; and grandparents, Leon and Ruth Bedke of Burley, Merle and Mary Fulton, and Bruce and Joyce DeGraff of Payette; he also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and a large tribe of cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, at Basin Cemetery east of Oakley.

Arrangements are under the care of Rasmussen Funeral Home of Burley.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made at any Zions Bank to the Jeffrey Bedke memorial account.
