Dale E. Miller

HEYBURN – Dale Edward Miller, age 74, of Heyburn, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012.

He was born on Oct. 25, 1937, in Hominy, Osage County, Oklahoma, the son of Irven and Clara Emaline Smithee Miller. He received his elementary education in Oklahoma, and after moving to Idaho with his family, he completed his education at Burley High School. He served in the United States Navy for four years and was stationed aboard the U.S. Bon Home aircraft carrier with his brother, Harold.

Dale married Wanda Louise Rose on May 16, 1958. Dale and Wanda, along with their five children, were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on July 9, 1977.

Dale was a professional plumber by profession and had worked for Catmull Plumbing for many years prior to operating his own business “Miller Plumbing.” He loved going fishing every day and working in his garden. However, most important to Dale was spending time with his family – especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed giving advice to his loving wife.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Miller of Heyburn; his children, Laurel Lee (Robert) Nay, Shanna L. Miller, and Roxanna M. Miller all of Heyburn; LisaKae (Jim) Baumgartner of Pocatello; and Eric D. (Rowena) Miller of Rupert; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Clifford W. Miller of Okemah, Oklahoma, Harold (Amy) Miller of Heyburn, Jerry D. Miller of Rupert, and Carolyn Miller Bell of Wendell.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Samuel H. Miller; two sisters-in-law, Darlene Holcomb Miller and Shirley Dean Miller; and a brother-in-law, John Bell.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 11, at the Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn, with Bishop Brett Thomas officiating.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday and from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Friday, prior to the graveside, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley.
