Larry H. Schneider
BURLEY – Our dear Lord chose to take our loved one, Larry H. Schneider, home peacefully as he slept on Tuesday, March 25, 2014.
Larry was born on Sept. 28, 1951, in Rupert, Idaho. He was the first child born to Howard D. Schneider and Alice Allen Schneider. He was followed by four siblings, a sister, Kathie, and three brothers, Kevin, Kerry, and Kim. Larry grew up in the Mini-Cassia area. He went to Minico High School and later graduated from the College of Southern Idaho, studying welding. On Dec. 6, 1969, he married Patsy O’Connell. They had one daughter, Monica. He and Patsy were later divorced. Larry lived and worked in several different states. While living in Lewiston, Idaho, he met and married Nancy Thorsen. They also divorced after a few years.
Larry had a great love of the outdoors and motorcycles, which he rode for most of his life. After a very bad motorcycle accident, he slowed down and eventually gave up riding. He was very talented in many areas. He loved making all kinds of different things working with his hands – beautiful canes and walking sticks, jewelry, knife covers, and many other objects. He loved children and dogs, and made friends easily. He loved his family so much, but often could be rather hard on them. His last years have been quite difficult because of health issues. He was unable to get around and do the things outside he loved to do. Larry will be greatly missed by his mother, sister, brothers, many friends, and healthcare giver, Jan Midthum.
He is survived by his mother, Alice Spackman; stepfather, Stuart Spackman; sister, Kathie (Rick) Brown; brothers, Kevin (Patty Anderson) Schneider, Kerry R. Schneider, and Kim (Karen) Schneider; five nephews; four nieces; stepsisters, Robin (Gene) Price, Laurie (Donnie) McNabb, and Porsha Higgins; and stepbrothers, Terry and Tracy Spackman, and D. Kim Paris.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard D. Schneider; both sets of grandparents, Loren and Mary Allen, and Roy and Meta Schneider; and his companion dog, Loco.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 7, at the Heyburn LDS 1st and 2nd Ward Church, 530 Villa Dr., in Heyburn.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Rasmussen Funeral Home of Burley.
