Clark Allen Fairchild

HEYBURN - Clark Allen Fairchild, 79, of Heyburn, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2014, at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls due from a fall and complications following surgery.

He was born on Feb. 19, 1935, in Burley, Idaho, the son of George and Ethel Fairchild. He was raised on the family farm in the Springdale area with his three sisters and one brother. He met his sweetheart and wife of 60 years, Delores Didlot, at a skating rink in Burley and they were married shortly thereafter on Feb. 13, 1954, in Elko, Nevada. He and Delores had and raised five boys, Rodney, Greg, Scott, Bobby and Corey – who they both devoted a lot of time with. He was a caring man, but strict when he needed to be. They had many struggles but always managed to come through hard times together. He farmed for a few years and then went to work for IPPI in Burley in 1959. Following his time at IPPI, Clark worked for Ore-Ida Foods for 32 years, retiring at the age of 55. He then concentrated his time to his wife, children and his dog.

Clark was a caring father who loved the outdoors and spent a lot of his time camping, fishing, and hunting with his family and friends. His favorite fishing spot was Little Wood Reservoir in Carey. He loved to garden and always had a huge garden which he shared. He also enjoyed family barbeques and Dutch-oven cooking. His little dog, Cody, was his best buddy and was always waiting for him at the back door.

Clark was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ronald; his three sisters, Mona, Nadine and Louise; a son, Corey; one granddaughter, Beckie; his cousin, Allen; and his four-legged companion, Sparky.

He is survived by his loving wife, Delores Fairchild; his sons, Rodney (Maria) Fairchild, Greg (Carrie) Fairchild, Scott Fairchild, and Bobby Fairchild; a daughter-in-law, Desiree (Annie) Fairchild; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

We love you very much and will miss your wit and jokes. May God bless you and may you rest with the angels until we meet again.

A viewing for family and friends will be held from 12 noon until 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn.
