BURLEY – Jerry Earl Hitt, 77, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at his home in Burley.
Jerry was born Jan. 25, 1940, in Burley, Idaho, to John Charles and Fern Lloyd Hitt. He graduated from Burley High School. He married Dixie Moseley and together, they raised two children, Justin and Rebecca. They later divorced. During his lifetime he worked and owned his own logging company in Cascade, Idaho.
He is survived by his two children Justin Earl Hitt (Shelly) of Nampa, and Rebecca Mapes (Greg) of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; five grandsons; and his siblings, Tom (Marie) Hitt of Malta, Dennis “Butch” (Janice) Hitt of Klammath Falls, Ore., and Helen Buttars of Burley.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Jack Hitt, Kenneth Hitt, Pud Hitt, Ed Hitt, Fern Lavina Adams, Molly Steed, and Swede Corsi.
Jerry requested no memorial service be held.
Cremation has been placed in the care of Rasmussen Funeral Home of Burley.
