Robert Timmons
PAUL - Robert Allen Timmons, age 92, of Paul, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at his home.
He was born on June 6, 1922, in Cedar Hill, Idaho, the son of Jacob William and Marie Elizabeth Fritz Timmons. He graduated from Heyburn High School and completed his schooling at the College of Southern Idaho. Bob married the love of his life, Shirley May Bedke on Feb. 26, 1952, in Preston, Idaho. Together, they raised four sons, Tim, Bill, Dave and Tom.
Bob worked for the Bureau of Reclamation for 33 years. He enjoyed gardening, working, and especially horseback riding. He was a member of the Rupert First Christian Church, was a Mason, and served many years in the 4-H program.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Timmons of Paul; his sons, Tim (Ruth) Timmons of Heyburn, Bill (Donna) Timmons of Rupert, Dave (Laurie) Timmons of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tom (Cecilia) Timmons of Rupert; one sister, Neva Grisenti of Rupert; a brother, Howard (Alice) Timmons of Rupert; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Jim, Ira, Ray, and George Timmons; two sisters, Edith Timmons and Ethyl Ballance; two brothers-in-law, George Grisenti and Jack Ballance; a great-granddaughter, Shaelinn Goffinet; and numerous nephews.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 7, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, with Pastor Dusty Adams officiating. Burial will follow at the Rupert Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, July 6, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Monday at the Rasmussen Funeral Home.
