Yvonne Ottley
ELBA – Quilla Yvonne Farr Ottley, age 82, of Elba, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012, at the Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley.
Yvonne was born on April 19, 1930, in Burley, Idaho, the daughter of Aquilla and Rhoda Christensen Farr. She graduated from Burley High School. She then attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah, for one year. She returned to Burley and worked at Idaho Bank & Trust for 20 years.
She married Merlin Ward Ottley on Sept. 2, 1955, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born four children, Kirk, Connie, Marnae and Thane. They lived in Burley for ten years and Heyburn for four years and then they purchased the Ottley Homestead from Merlin’s folks and moved to Elba.
Yvonne worked as secretary at the Raft River High School for 22 years. She has always been an active member of the LDS Church and has worked in all of the different auxiliaries of the Church. She always enjoyed a good laugh and was a fun friend.
She is survived by her four children; her grandchildren, Cade, Wendy, Jacob, Brandon, Logan, Tiffany, Skyler, Chelsea, Kelsey, Andrew, Cameron, Paige and Sarah; and great-grandchildren, Sophia, Olivia, Dylan, Aubrie and Levi.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her dear husband, Merlin; four brothers; and three sisters.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 18, at the Elba LDS Church with Bishop Carl F. Boden officiating. Burial will be in the Grand View Cemetery in Elba.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church.
