Charlene Patterson Pickett Jones
TWIN FALLS - Charlene Patterson Pickett Jones, 76, of Twin Falls, and formerly of Murtaugh, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015.
She was born March 9, 1938, at the Cottage Hospital in Burley, Idaho, the only child of Willard Allmen and Alice Geneal (Calkins) Patterson. She received her education in Burley and graduated from Burley High School. She married J. Paul Pickett on April 12, 1957. Together, they had three children, Steven, Penny and Michelle. Paul passed away on Sept. 6, 1999. She later married Norman Lee Jones on Aug. 22, 2006.
Charlene worked with her mother, Geneal Patterson, at Kiddie Ville, as a secretary at Cable View for many years, and together with her husband, Paul, and son, Steven, owned and operated Pickett Equipment. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, playing cards, and car racing with Norm and his family.
She is survived by her husband, Norm Jones of Twin Falls; son, Steven Paul (Debbie) Pickett of Murtaugh; two grandchildren, Kerstin Lynn Stanger and Brooks Orion Quaintance; four great-grandchildren, Ryan Steven Stanger, Jackson Dee Stanger, Taylor Elizabeth Stanger and McCray Rebel Quaintance; Norm’s children, Becky (Roger) Michael of Palm Springs, Calif., Rhonda (Mike) Hively of Portland, Ore., Steve Wayne (Mindy) Jones of Meridian, Idaho, and Sondra Jane (Jeremy) Beard of Las Vegas, Nev.; and Norm’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her first husband, Paul, she was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Penny Chisholm and Michelle Pickett; and a grandson, Steven John Pickett.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, where friends and family may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, March 13, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Marion Cemetery in Oakley.
