Chance Wesley Doty

BURLEY - Chance Wesley Doty earned his angel wings on Monday, April 13, 2015, at the all-too-young age of 14.

Chance was born Feb. 26, 2001, in Burley, Idaho to Sarah (Hanks) Williamson and Chad Wesley Doty. Although his life was short, he was able to live it to the fullest. He loved to play baseball and football and was counting down the days ‘til his first high school football game. If Chance wasn’t inside playing X-Box, he could be found outside trying to find some sort of ATV to ride. He loved to watch movies, spend time with his parents and friends, and he loved his brother and sisters to no end.

Chance is survived by his parents, Sarah (Von) Williamson and Chad Wesley Doty; his siblings, Kasyn and Hadley Williamson, and Rylee Albert and Kierra Doty; his maternal grandparents, Susan (Don) Hirsch; his paternal grandmother, Patty Karlson; aunts, Molly Hanks, Samantha Hirsch and Misty Sylvester; and uncles, Jeremy Doty, Steven Doty, Josh Hirsch and Nick Hirsch.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Steven Wesley Doty; his maternal grandfather, Marvin Otto Hanks; and his best friend, Cody Whiting.

Chance’s life would seem to short too many, but those who were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time for which one lives. His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him and though he never spoke a word, his voice and thoughts could always be heard.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at the Burley LDS 3rd and 7th Ward Church, 2200 Oakley Ave., in Burley, with Bishop Brent Winn officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, April 17, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.
