Virginia Loveless
BURLEY - Virginia Jane Loveless was the 5th of seven children born to Ben and Clara (Norsby) Grilley on Aug. 17, 1934, in Northome, Minn. She passed away while at her home in Burley, Idaho, on April 26, 2015.
Her father moved around with his jobs, so the family lived in several states until she graduated in Yuma, Arizona. She married James Seek on Oct. 30, 1954, in Kalispell, Mont., where they raised their three sons before divorcing. Virginia met and married Eldon Loveless on April 16, 1977, in Elko, Nev., as part of a double wedding with her sister, Odean. Virginia and Eldon lived in Burley with their youngest sons, then followed Eldon’s job to Blackfoot, Idaho. After Eldon retired, they returned to Burley.
The couple loved to travel to Montana every year to visit Virginia’s siblings and friends, plus went on many long drives and vacations with their 5th-wheel, and a cruise with Virginia’s family. They enjoyed spending winters in Maricopa, Ariz., on the family’s joined properties.
Virginia was happy to be a housewife most of her life, but she also worked at Lynch Oil, sold Avon, plus knitted afghans, baby clothes, and doll dresses to sell. She enjoyed visiting and having her own yard sales, and helping with some community events. She was a volunteer at the Cassia Hospital for many years. She brightened the atmosphere at all the friend and family gatherings that she loved to attend.
She is survived by her husband, Eldon Loveless of Burley; her brothers, Ward (Alice) Grilley of Polson, Mont., and Roger (Linda) Grilley of Kalispell, Mont., and a sister-in-law, Doreen Grilley. Her children are Forrest Seek of Laguna Nigel, Calif., Wade (Jan) Seek of Burley, and Ryan Seek of Maricopa, Ariz. Her stepchildren are Kathy (Frank) Marker of Burley, and Ken (Chris) Loveless of Smyrna, Ga. She has 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; plus siblings, infant brother, Alvin, Wesley (Doreen) Grilley, Jeannette (Ronnie) Northy and Odean (Ransom) Brown; and a great-grandson, Bailey Nash.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, where friends and family may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, May 1, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday, prior to the service. Officiating will be Bishop Steven Gerratt. Burial will follow at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley.
