Julia Ann Haag Holland
BURLEY – Julia Ann Haag Holland, a 77-year-old resident of Burley, passed away on Sunday morning, June 24, 2012, with her eternal companion at her side.
Julia was born on April 9, 1935, at her parents’ home in Burley, Idaho. She was the daughter of Eric Gust and Edith Leone Anderson Haag. She received her education in Burley and graduated from Burley High School in 1953. She then attended and completed her schooling at the Twin Falls Business College. She married the love of her life, Jack R. Holland Jr., on July 1, 1954, in Burley. They were later sealed for time and all eternity on July 2, 1965, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
In her younger years, Julia worked as a secretary at various businesses. However, the profession she enjoyed most was working side-by-side with her husband in the family pharmacy. It was here that Julia used her expertise and knowledge in interior design in managing the gift department of Sav-Mor Drug Store.
She was an active member The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served in various callings in the Primary, Sunday School and Relief Society. She and her husband Jack served as missionaries in the New York New York North Mission. She was also active in the Lady Lions Club of Burley.
Julia was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She used her talents in creating a warm and beautiful home. She enjoyed sewing, reading, floral design, golfing, snow skiing, and was passionate in collecting bears.
Survivors include her husband, Jack R. Holland of Burley; her children, Jeffrey R. (Lori) Holland of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jodi Holland of Pocatello, Jon R. (Sarah) Holland of Draper, Utah, and Jana Mueller of Fair Oaks, California; five grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Jean Heiner of Rupert, and Carleen Heidel of Nampa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Max Haag; and her son-in-law, Paul Mueller.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at the Burley LDS 2nd and 4th Ward Church, 515 E. 16th St., in Burley, with Bishop Clay Handy officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
