BURLEY - Donald Carl Meline, 87, was reunited with his Heavenly Father, surrounded by his family at his home in Burley, Idaho, on July 10, 2015.

Don was born in Burley, Idaho, to Carl Walter Meline and Dora Grace Halford on April 28, 1928, the eldest of 8 children. Don grew up on the farm in Burley and graduated from Burley High School. He served in the US Air Force as a radar technician during the Korean War, stationed in England. After leaving the service he attended Idaho State University, eventually accepting a position with Boeing in Seattle, Washington. He later moved to Utah, and took positions at Hill Air Force Base and with the University of Utah Physics Lab staff. Following these pursuits, he returned to Burley, and worked as a line mechanic at A&P, and then finally retired from the JR Simplot company in 1990.

Don was an accomplished saxophone player and brought the spirit of beautiful melodies alive with his passion for music. Many souls were given the blessing of his talents as he played volunteer performances at care centers, hospitals, weddings, and other events throughout the Mini-Cassia area. Don was actively engaged in family history as a member of the LDS church, and enjoyed attending the temple often.

Don is survived by his wife, Reba Meline; sons and daughters, Craig Meline, Elisha Crandall, Leah Rose, Roger Meline, Donald Meline Jr., Sabrina Boyzuck, Lisa Meline, Aaron Meline, Linda Allen, Nicholas Meline, and Derek Meline; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Mayna McGill, Kent Meline, Marian Steel, and Lewis Meline.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leon and Gerald; a sister, Dora Grace, and two children, Dennis Carl, Stephanie Dawn.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at the Unity LDS Church, 275 S. 250 E., of Burley.

A visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 1 until 1:45 p.m. Thursday at the church.
