BURLEY - John Phillip Williams, 67, of Pocatello, formerly of Burley, died Thursday, July 16, 2015, in Pocatello.
John was born in Burley, Idaho, on Feb. 29, 1948, the son of John J. and Lorraine Winter Williams. On March 16, 1956, they gave him a little brother who they named Howard E. Williams. John and Howard were very close. They were raised and attended school in the Burley area. After John graduated high school, he enrolled in the armed services. Shortly after serving in the United States Army, he married his first wife, Georgia, and they had two children, a daughter, Taunia Marie, and a son, J.C. He would later marry twice more before meeting the love of his life, Jackie M. Williams. He and Jackie were married in August of 1998, and spent many happy years together until his passing.
He loved hanging out with his friends and family. He tried many different jobs through the years. He eventually made a career in driving truck. He had many hobbies and interests. He enjoyed the outdoors - fishing, float tubing, camping, and hunting.
He is survived by his mother, Lorraine Williams of Burley; his loving wife, Jackie Williams of Pocatello; his children; grandchildren; and many friends.
He was loved by all who knew him and will be missed greatly. I love you Johnnie.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, at Gem Memorial Gardens, 2435 Overland Ave., in Burley.
Friends may call from noon until 1:30 p.m., prior to the graveside service, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley.
