Marijean “Dayce” Rehn

BURLEY - Marijean Dayce Rehn, 76, of Burley, our loving wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister, and friend passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015, at home after a courageous battle with Lymphoma, while holding the hand of the love of her life, Leonard.

Dayce was born on Sept. 20, 1939, to Lloyd E. and Dorthy Adams Hanks, in Burley, Idaho, where she was raised on the family farm. She graduated from Burley High School in 1957. She married Marvin "Mac" McIntosh in 1960, to which union their daughter, Jennifer Lin was born. Mac passed away in 1984.

She had a love for her daughter that was surpassed by nothing. They were as close as a mother and daughter could be. She loved Scott, Greg, and Lenny as if they were her own and they had a special love for her.

Dayce was a loving, patient, kind, and giving woman. She was an amazing cook that could take something as simple as toast and strawberry jam and make it something you dreamt about. She had a way of making each of her grandchildren feel like they were her "favorite".

In 1985, her love story began when she married the love of her life, Leonard William Rehn. Their summers were spent out on the farm, while their winters were spent traveling and enjoying time with treasured friends. It was a rare occasion to see one without the other. Everywhere they went you would see them hand-in-hand, and just happy to be together.

Her passing has left a hole in Leonard’s heart that won't be filled until they are able to be together again. A love like theirs was once in a lifetime.

Dayce is survived by her husband, Leonard Rehn; her daughter, Jennifer (Gene Colter) Evans; her sons, Greg Rehn and Lenny Rehn; one brother, Delwyn (Sherral) Hanks; her sister-in-law, Marita Hanks; her grandchildren, Lindsey (Casey) Grover, Brock Evans, Katlin (Ted) Dalton, Kole Evans, Kade Evans, Heather Rehn, Hedi Rehn-Nelbach, Chase Rehn, and Aaron Rehn; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Mac McIntosh; her parents, Lloyd and Dorthy Hanks; one son, Scott Rehn; her granddaughter, Sarah Rehn; her father and mother-in-law, Bill and June Rehn; and her brother, Norm Hanks.

In lieu of flowers please plant a daisy in her honor.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, where friends may call from 10 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
