BURLEY – Revola Dalling, a 92-year-old former Burley resident, passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020, at Arbor Valley of Cascadia, a skilled nursing facility in Boise.
Revola was born on September 8, 1928, the seventh of nine children, to Charles Spencer Haws and Zenna Dean Rawlins Haws. She was given the name of Frances Revola Haws, but always went by Revola. She was born and raised in Newdale, Idaho, although each summer the family would move to the dry farm her father owned a few miles east of Newdale. Revola attended grade school in Newdale and graduated from Sugar City High School.
On June 19, 1946, Revola married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Lynn Orme Dalling, in the Idaho Falls Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lynn had just returned home from serving in the Army during World War II. Together they raised their children in Burley, Idaho.
The Lord blessed Revola with many talents. She received many blue ribbons and Best-of- Show awards at the Burley fair for her sewing. Revola enjoyed flower arranging, and her home was filled with some of the bouquets and swags she had made. One of Revola’s favorite hobbies was golfing. She golfed many mornings during the summer with friends, and even hit a hole in one. Revola had many different jobs out of her home such as working as a secretary, working at a floral shop, and at Ace Hardware in housewares. Revola’s Community activities included: Census taker for Madison County, Chairman of the Cancer Drive for Sugar City, president, vice- president, secretary, and treasurer for the Burley Ladies Golf Association, officer in the Easy Does It Home Demonstration Club, president of the Burley Literary Club, and co-president of the PTA alongside her husband, Lynn. While Revola enjoyed a number of jobs and outside interests, her favorite activities always centered on taking care of her home and family. She loved cooking, sewing and building relationships with her children.
Revola was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings. Some of those were Primary teacher, Sunday school teacher, Young Women advisor, Primary president, two-time counselor in the stake Relief Society, two-time ward Relief Society president, stake Relief Society president, and she was honored to be a visiting teacher. Revola and Lynn served an eighteen month mission in the Canada Halifax Mission.
Revola is survived by three children, Susan Lynn Price (Doyle) of Rupert, Idaho, William R. “Bill” Dalling of Boise, Idaho, and Lynette Lowry (David) of South Weber, Utah; 18 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and one sister, Sharon Moser. Revola was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn; her parents; five brothers; two sisters; and an infant daughter.
The family expresses their sincere appreciation to Arbor Valley of Cascadia for the outstanding care given to Revola. We would also like to thank the All Care Hospice staff for their care over the past nine months, and Morning Star Assisted Living for their care for the past several years.
Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend will be truly missed.
